Younger learners understand mathematics best when they can touch it — count it, weigh it, or trace it on a pegboard before it becomes an abstract symbol. EduScope India's Math Tools range covers that hands-on layer of primary and middle-school maths: measurement and weighing tools, geometry sets, geoboards, and counting and number-sense manipulatives, manufactured and exported to schools, colleges and TVET institutes.

This category is distinct from Maths Lab Equipment, which covers grouped kits and lab-scale demonstration equipment for slightly older learners — many institutions order from both.

Math tools range

Math tools by learning stage

Which group of math tools does your lesson stage need?

Measurement and weighing: the student's simple balance, plastic lever balance and tape measure — introducing comparison, weight and length concepts.

Geometry sets: the math geometry set and transparent math geometry set — for construction and measurement of shapes and angles.

Geoboards: the 14cm double-sided student geoboard, double-sided geoboard, sheep-shape geoboard, teacher demonstration geoboard and transparent geometric geoboard — for hands-on shape, perimeter and area exploration.

Counting and number sense: the counting rods set, magnetic colour counting set, counting piece set, big counting piece and magnetic fraction demonstration block.

Specifications and standards

Student geoboard or teacher demonstration geoboard — which do you need?

Individual student boards, such as the 14cm student geoboard, are sized for one learner working at a desk. The teacher demonstration geoboard is built larger so a whole class can see it from the front of the room. Order student boards per learner or per pair, and one demonstration board per classroom. Double-sided boards such as the double-sided geoboard and transparent geometric geoboard let a teacher switch between two peg layouts or grid types without needing a second board.

How should counting manipulatives be chosen for different age groups?

Counting manipulatives progress in abstraction as learners advance. The big counting piece and magnetic colour counting set suit early counting and sorting by colour or size. The counting rods set and counting piece set support place-value and basic arithmetic once counting is established. The magnetic fraction demonstration block is for a later stage, once whole-number arithmetic is secure and fraction concepts are introduced.

Who buys this range

How does this category connect to Maths Lab Equipment and other kits?

This range covers individual, classroom-scale manipulatives. For grouped, activity-based or lab-scale maths equipment, see Maths Lab Equipment, which also includes STEM Math Kits. General classroom teaching aids beyond mathematics sit under Education Supplies, and broader activity kits sit under Science Kit.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Math Tools and Maths Lab Equipment?

This category covers individual classroom manipulatives — balances, geometry sets, geoboards and counting pieces. Maths Lab Equipment covers grouped kits and lab-scale equipment such as STEM Math Kits.

How many geoboards should a classroom order?

One teacher demonstration geoboard per classroom, plus one student geoboard per learner or pair, depending on your practical format.

What's the difference between the standard and transparent geometry sets?

The transparent geometry set lets students see through the tool to align it against a worksheet or diagram, useful for construction-heavy lessons; the standard set suits general geometry work.

Count learners, pairs and classrooms before ordering, since boards like the Double-sided Students Geoboard 14cm go one per learner or pair and the Teacher Demonstration Geoboard one per classroom, then share those numbers with EduScope India.
