The EduScope India Outside Micrometer (measuring range 0-25 mm) is a precision hand tool for accurately measuring the outside dimensions of small components, forming part of EduScope India's range of physics laboratory equipment.
Construction and specifications
The micrometer reads to 0.01 mm and is fitted with carbide-tipped measuring faces for accurate, wear-resistant readings on short lengths. A locking clamp and ratchet stop hold the spindle steady once a reading is taken and apply consistent measuring pressure between uses, so successive measurements stay repeatable. A setting rod is supplied for easy calibration and reliable long-term performance, and the locking mechanism secures the reading in place for stable, glare-free viewing of the scale.
For components above 25 mm, this instrument is complemented by EduScope India's Outside Micrometer (25-50 mm), covering the next stage of the same measuring range.
