Laser Refraction Tank

Laser Refraction Tank

Product Code : EL-PLE-14984
Eduscope India is a leading Laser Refraction Tank

The Laser Refraction Tank from Eduscope India is a self-contained optics instrument built for hands-on study of how a beam of light bends on entering a denser or rarer medium, part of Eduscope India's range of Physics Lab Equipment. Quick Answer: this self-contained tank pairs a built-in laser with 4 prisms, 2 mirrors, a beam splitter, a semi-circle lens, and an equilateral prism so students can trace and measure refraction angles directly - hands-on physics lab equipment India schools use for Snell's Law demonstrations.

Construction and Specifications
It pairs a built-in laser light source with a set of prisms, mirrors and lenses so that students can trace an actual ray of light, mark its angle of incidence and angle of refraction, and compare the two directly on the base of the tank rather than through a diagram alone - the kind of reliable laboratory equipment school India physics departments use for hands-on refraction teaching. The apparatus consists of one laser tank (trough) mounted on a base, together with one laser pointer and its detachable housing unit. The laser is the instrument's built-in light source, so the incident ray and the refracted ray it produces at each optical surface stay bright and easy to follow while angles are read off and recorded. The set includes four prisms, two mirrors, and one beam splitter, letting refraction, reflection and beam-splitting be explored within the same set-up. It is further supplied with 1 Semi-circle lens, 90mm base x 15mm thick, for studying refraction at a curved interface, and 1 Equilateral prism, 75mm sides, 15mm thick, for tracing the familiar triangular refraction path used to measure angle of deviation. Because the unit is self-contained, it lets students measure and study the refraction of light without extra ray-box equipment or a fully darkened room. The angle of the incident ray and the refracted ray are easily seen with the help of the built-in laser as its light source, making the geometry of refraction, and the reasoning behind Snell's Law, something students can observe directly rather than take on faith.
